Handling Visual Distraction

Kick-Off-Workshop der CAS Research Group unter Leitung von Prof. Dr. Hermann Müller (CAS Research Group/LMU) und PD Dr. Heinrich R. Liesefeld (CAS Research Group/LMU/Universität Bremen).

For human perception, the world is full of stimuli, of which only a fraction is relevant for the respective, individual goals. The human brain had to cope with distraction throughout its evolution, so that appropriate adaptive mechanisms could develop. However, modern society intensifies the demands on these mechanisms by an ever
increasing amount of attention-seeking stimuli. The CAS Research Group ”Handling Visual Distraction“ focuses on basic mechanisms of handling distraction.
