Migration in a Broader Context. The Horn of Africa and its Asymmetric Global Relations
In the early 21st century, migration has certainly become a major topic in academic as well as in political debate. While the phenomenon allows interrelating numerous issues and fundamental questions, the rather technical search for so-called 'root causes' and 'sustainable solutions' and its inherent perpetuation of crisis and presentism has prevailed much of our academic debate. Taking the Horn of Africa and its long and ongoing history of migration as a starting point, the workshop aims at a broader understanding of asymmetric global relations.
Teilnehmer sind u.a.: Markus Höhne (Leipzig), Aurora Massa (Università degli Studi di Napoli L'Orientale), Sabine Mohamed (MPI zur Erforschung multireligiöser und multiethnischer Gesellschaften).
