Decisions, Groups, and Networks

Internationaler Workshop unter Leitung von Prof. Dr. Stephan Hartmann, Dr. Catherine Herfeld und Prof. Dr. Paul W.Thurner (LMU).

08.09.2014 – 09.09.2014

In recent years, formal and empirical approaches, such as social network analysis, agent-based modeling, and simulation techniques, have become central to study group decision-making. Also philosophers increasingly point to the potentials of these approaches for addressing questions in political and moral philosophy, formal epistemology, and philosophy of science more generally. Whereas the importance of social dynamics and network structures for investigating decisionmaking has been largely acknowledged, the application and results of these novel approaches raise a number of philosophical issues.

Teilnehmer sind u.a.: Skyler Cranmer (Chapel Hill), Ulrike Hahn (Birkbeck London), Bernhard Kittel (Wien), Aidan Lyon (Maryland), Friederike Mengel (Essex), Andreas Mojzisch (Hildesheim).
