Worlds of Journalism: Professional Identity, Influences, and Change
The workshop will bring together researchers from around the world who are interested in the study of the ongoing, and sometimes dramatic, transformation of the institution of journalism. The event will be held in the context of the multinational "Worlds of Journalism Study", a collaborative endeavor of researchers from more than 70 countries to assess the state of journalism around the globe. The study’s primary objective is to help journalism researchers, practitioners, media managers and policy makers better understand worldviews and changes that are taking place in the professional orientations of journalists, the conditions and limitations under which they operate, as well as the social functions of journalism in a changing world.
