Radio-Immunotherapy in Veterinary Medicine
Immunotherapy has become a fourth pillar in cancer therapy in human medicine – along with surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Veterinary medicine also has high hopes for this method. Taken alone, the different therapies are limited in their possibilities, but the combination of radiotherapy with different immunotherapies can increase the respondence of tumors. Determining the ideal dosage as well as the optimal schedule for a treatment is a major challenge for any form of therapy and especially for the combination of different therapies. In veterinary medicine, in addition to human medicine, optimal treatment strategies can be developed and this field of research can be actively advanced.
