Prof. Anna Anguissola, Ph.D.

Anna Anguissola is research fellow at the Institute of Classical Archaeology of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. She did her PhD at the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa and held a fellowship at Pisa and the American Academy in Rome. Her research interests encompass a variety of topics, ranging from Roman architecture, to Classical and Hellenistic sculpture, to the iconography of ancient art, and to the history of collections.
During her time as Researcher in Residence at CAS, she will complete a broad project on the role of imitation within Roman visual culture. In early 2011, she will organize an international workshop at CAS, targeted on early-career researchers, on Roman domestic architecture ("'Privata Luxuria'. Towards an archaeology of intimacy").
