Dirk van Moorselaar is a postdoctoral researcher in the ERC group lead by Jan Theeuwes at the VU Amsterdam. He obtained his Ph.D. in cognitive psychology at the VU Amsterdam. His research appears among others in the Journal of Neuroscience, Elife, the Journal of Experimental Psychology, Cortex, and Scientific reports.

Van Moorselaar’s field of research include various aspects of visual attention and (working) memory. In his work, he combines traditional neuroscience measures, such as event related potential analyses, with more state-of-the-art techniques, including neural encoding models and multivariate decoding.

He is a Visiting Fellow in July 2022 in the context of the CAS Research Group „Handling Visual Distraction" led by Prof. Dr. Hermann Müller.
