Douglas Mennin is Professor of Clinical Psychology at Columbia University. His research focuses on anxiety and mood disorders, particularly worry, stress and depression. His research has shown that it is highly important to efficiently process emotional situations and manage resultant moods in adaptive, rather than dysfunctional ways. Next to numerous studies in basic research, he conducts clinical trial research. Specifically, he has developed Emotion Regulation Therapy, using a mechanistic framework, drawn from basic and translational findings.

He is a Visiting Fellow at CAS in July 2022 upon invitation from Dr. Barbara Cludius (CAS Junior Researcher in Residence 2022).
