Prof. Andrew Leber, Ph.D.

Ehemaliger Visiting Fellow

Ohio State University

Psychologie

Andrew Leber is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Cognitive and Brain Sciences at the Ohio State University. He received his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University and was a postdoctoral fellow at Yale University. He serves as Associate Editor for Attention, Perception, & Psychophysics, and he recently co-edited a special issue in Current Opinion in Psychology on Atten tion and Perception.

Leber’s research is focused on the control of attention, using behavioral, eye-tracking, and neuroimaging methods in humans. This work is largely comprised of two major lines of inquiry. First, he investigates how past experience guides the use of attention (e.g., Leber et al., 2016, Psychon Bull Rev, 23: 1873-1881); second, he investigates the factors that lead to individual variation in the optimality of attentional control strategies (e.g., Irons & Leber, 2020, Curr Dir Psych Sci, 24, 364-371).

He is a Visiting Fellow in July 2022 in the context of the CAS Research Group „Handling Visual Distraction" led by Prof. Dr. Hermann Müller.
