Prof. Dominique Lamy, Ph.D.

Dominique Lamy is a Professor of Psychology at Tel-Aviv University, where she previously received her Ph.D. in cognitive psychology. She participated in a postdoctoral program at Johns Hopkins University and is a member of several grant proposal evaluation committees, such as those at the Israel Science Foundation and the Binational Science Foundation.

She has published in psychological journals such as Visual Cognition, Consciousness and Cognition, and Journal of Experimental Psychology. Lamy‘s current research focuses on the determinants of attentional allocation and the role of consciousness in cognitive processing. In a separate line of research, she seeks to assess the contribution of conscious awareness to cognitive processing, from low-level operations such as attentional orienting to high-level processes such as semantic processing and semantic integration. Finally, she also explores cross-modal correspondences between syntactic structures in Western music and visual dimensions.

She is a Visiting Fellow in July 2022 in the context of the CAS Research Group „Handling Visual Distraction" led by Prof. Dr. Hermann Müller.
