Hans Colonius is Professor em. of Psychology at Oldenburg University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Braunschweig. He has been a member of the Center of Excellence "Hearing-for-All" and the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Neurosensory Science at Oldenburg. He has been editor-in-chief of Journal of Mathematical Psychology and is co-editor of the three-volume New Handbook of Mathematical Psychology (Cambridge U. Press, 2017). His research appears in Psychological Review, Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience, Experimental Brain Research, Journal of Vision, Psychometrika, and others.

Colonius’ field of research is mathematical psychology including quantitative modeling of multisensory perception and response inhibition, psychophysics, and decision-making.

He is a Visiting Fellow in July and August 2022 in the context of the CAS Research Group „Handling Visual Distraction" led by Prof. Dr. Hermann Müller.
