Nancy Carlisle is an Assistant Professor of Psychology and Cognitive Science at Lehigh University. She obtained her Ph.D. at Vanderbilt University. Her research has appeared in Journal of Neuroscience, Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience, Cognitive, Affective, and Behavioral Neuroscience, and Current Directions in Psychological Science.

Carlisle’s research focuses on our ability to control our visual attention, with a special emphasis on our ability to ignore distractors. Her work utilizes multiple methodologies including EEG, eye tracking, and behavior to draw fundamental inferences about visual attention.

She is a Visiting Fellow in July and August 2022 in the context of the CAS Research Group „Handling Visual Distraction" led by Prof. Dr. Hermann Müller.
