Ulrich von Andrian is Professor of Immunopathology at the Harvard Medical School in Boston.

He is one of the world's leading experts in the field of inflammation research. He is currently concerned with the question of how circulating blood cells find their way through the body. Among other things, he was able to clarify fundamental processes involving the interaction of inflammation cells with antigen-presenting cells using newly developed models and microscope techniques.

Ulrich von Andrian will be at the CAS as a visiting fellow in May and June 2012 following an invitation from Prof. Ulrich Pohl and Prof. Stefan Endres. During his time here in Munich, he will cooperate intensively with the Walter Brendel Center for Experimental Medicine and the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, as well as with several work groups of the BioImaging Network and the SFB914.
