Tamara Niella, M.Sc.

Tamara Niella is an M.Sc. and Ph.D. Candidate in Social Psychology at University of Oregon, working in Sara D. Hodges’ Social Cognition Lab and collaborating with Joaquin Navajas at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. Her current research focuses on how people communicate about polarizing moral or political issues: How do our expectations about such interactions compare to actual face-to-face conversations? What effect does the hostile language in social media have in our willingness to talk to others about these issues?

Since 2020, she serves as Academic Coordinator at the Oxford Consortium for Human Rights: Alongside Hugo Slim, she took the lead towards maintaining OCHR’s mission alive amid the COVID-19 Pandemic. Tamara Niella is also a member of Expedicion Ciencia, an Argentinian non-profit whose initiative is to introduce high-school students and educators to a deeper understanding of scientific thinking and experimental design through science camps and workshops.

Tamara Niellai is member of the CAS Research Group "Persuading under Uncertainty: Challenges and Norms of Science Communication" of Prof. Dr. Ophelia Deroy and a Visiting Fellow at CAS from May to July 2022.
