Laura del Hoyo Soriano is a clinical neuropsychologist and investigator at the Alzheimer Down Unit of the Neurology Department of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona.

Laura del Hoyo Soriano's research interests include the validation of digitalized cognitive tools for the effective detection of early cognitive decline in individuals with Down syndrome. She is particularly interested in the domains of language and bilingualism.

She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Barcelona in 2011, followed by a formal Master's degree in Pharmacology. In 2016, she obtained her PhD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) at the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute on the biological factors that influence cognitive and behavioural variability in individuals with Down syndrome. Her outstanding doctoral work has been honoured with numerous awards. From 2017 to 2021, Laura del Hoyo Soriano was a postdoctoral researcher at the MIND Institute at the University of California, Davis (UCD). In 2021, she joined the UCD as a faculty member. Since June 2023, she has been an investigator and clinical neuropsychologist at the Alzheimer Down Unit of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona.

She is a Visiting Fellow at CAS at the invitation of Prof. Dr. Nikolaos Koutsouleris (Medicine, LMU) and Prof. Dr. Johannes Levin (Medicine, LMU) in the context of the CAS Research Group Tools for Transnational Neuropsychiatric Research.
