Klaus-G. Hinzen is Professor of earthquake geology and archaeoseismology at the University of Cologne as well as director of the Earthquake Station Bensberg.

His research topics are archaeoseismology, intraplate earthquakes and engineering seismology.

Klaus-G. Hinzen is a Visiting Fellow at CAS in May 2018 upon invitation from Prof. Dr. Heiner Igel in the context of the CAS Research Focus "Settlements between Diversity and Homogeneity".

On 16 May 2018 he will give a lecture on "Elements of a Quantitative Archaeoseismological Study" at the Historicum of the LMU.
