Juan M. Górriz is Professor at the Data Science and Computational Intelligence Institute of the University of Granada.

Juan Górriz received his B.Sc. degree in Physics and the B.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Granada in 2000 and 2001, respectively. He earned his Ph.D. degree from the University of Cádiz in 2003, and another Ph.D. degree from the University of Granada in 2006, both with honors. He has been Professor at the Data Science and Computational Intelligence Institute of the University of Granada since 2012 and Visiting Professor at the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge since 2017.

His current interests include statistical signal processing and its applications in biosignal and medical image processing.

He has co-authored over 450 technical journals and conference papers in these areas and received the National Academy of Engineering Medal in 2015. Additionally, he has served as an Editor for several journals and books.

He is a Visiting Fellow at CAS at the invitation of Prof. Dr. Nikolaos Koutsouleris (Medicine, LMU) and Prof. Dr. Johannes Levin (Medicine, LMU) in the context of the CAS Research Group Tools for Transnational Neuropsychiatric Research.
