Francisco Jesús Martínez Murcia is a Ramón y Cajal Fellow (tenure track) at the University of Granada in the Department of Signal Theory, Telematics and Communications.

He completed his PhD in the field of Information and Communication Technologies at the University of Granada in the Signal Processing and Biomedical Applications (SiPBA) research group.

He is specialised in digital signal processing and analysis and biomedical imaging. His interests range from statistical modelling of neurological disease progression to the application of deep learning models to neuroimaging. He collaborates with several international groups in the UK and Germany.

He is a Visiting Fellow at CAS at the invitation of Prof. Dr. Nikolaos Koutsouleris (Medicine, LMU) and Prof. Dr. Johannes Levin (Medicine, LMU) in the context of the CAS Research Group Tools for Transnational Neuropsychiatric Research.
