Eric McDade is Professor of Neurology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
His research focuses in the early identification of patients who are at increased risk of developing Alzheimer's disease. Using cerebrospinal fluid and neuroimaging techniques, he studies potential early markers in order to better understand and categorise the timing and relationship between measurements of disease risk and disease progression. The aim of his work is to identify better measures and targets for the prevention of Alzheimer's disease as well as to test disease-modifying therapies.
He is a Visiting Fellow at CAS at the invitation of Prof. Dr. Nikolaos Koutsouleris (Medicine, LMU) and Prof. Dr. Johannes Levin (Medicine, LMU) in the context of the CAS Research Group Tools for Transnational Neuropsychiatric Research.
