Prof. Dr. em. Dorothea Frede

Dorothea Frede is Professor Emerita of the Chair for Ancient Philosophy and the Philosophy of Language at the University of Hamburg and a regular guest professor at the University of California in Berkeley.

In recent years her main focus has been on ethics and methodology in Plato’s later works and on ethics and politics in Aristotle. Currently she is working on a translation and commentary of Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics for the Berlin Academy Series.

Dorothea Frede is following an invitation from Prof. Dr. Christof Rapp and will be a guest in Munich in December 2012, October 2013, June and October 2014, April 2015 as well as in November 2021.
