Walid Saleh ist Associate Professor am Department für Religionsstudien und am Department zur Erforschung des Nahen und Mittleren Ostens an der University of Toronto.
Seine Forschungsinteressen sind der Koran, die Geschichte der Auslegung des Korans, apokalyptische Literatur, theologische Literatur des mittelalterlichen Islams und arabische Literatur.
Walid Saleh ist von Juni bis August 2016 auf Einladung von Prof. Dr. Ronny Vollandt am CAS. Am 30. Juni 2016 hält er einen Vortrag zum Thema "A Muslim Hebraist? Al-Biqa`i and the Bible in 15th Century Cairo".
